Treatment Generalization and Ecological Validity, on many of these. At the most concrete level we should be able to demonstrate that patients improve on cognitive remediation tasks that were performed in the abnormal range at baseline. Secondly, they should improve beyond chance level on neuropsychological tests in the areas treated. Neurological

Conclusions,ded to improve in any identified domain will vary by patient, and the target should be a behavioral and not a temporal one. Following this approach, the casebook demonstrates significant improvement in various kinds of attention and memory problems, visual/spatial deficits, and executive dysfunction, independent of etiology or age of the patient.

Treatment Generalization and Ecological Validity,measures should be examined for improved neurophysiological functioning following treatment. Finally, and most importantly, behavioral change should be demonstrated in the patient’s daily functioning. Each of these methods will be examined and discussed in detail.

Cognitive Remediation with NeurXercise,l analysis of NeurXercise that parallels the format of Chap. 2, assessment in treatment planning, and conveniently allows for identification of exercises that will likely help in remediation based on the neuropsychological testing results.
