Sedimentary Characteristics of Oolitic Carbonates from the Jialing-Jiang Formation [Lower Triassic (Sichuan Basin was an epicontinental sea in the late (Aurenig) of the Early Triassic. The sea was bounded to the north and west by land masses, and to the south by a submarine high, while to the east lay the open sea (Fig. 1). These paleogeographic features controlled sedimentation in the basin.
