The Reflection of Abrupt Climatic Changes in the Relief and Sequence of Continental Depositsposits in the temperature zone. The following abrupt changes are discussed for the last 11000 years; 10.9–10.6 Ka, 8.4–8.0 Ka, 5.0–4.5 Ka, 2.8–2.4 Ka BP and the Little Ice Age. The following abrupt climatic changes have been distinguished: a/abrupt warmings and coolings and b/short waves of increased humidity and increased flood frequency.

Biotic Response to Climatic Changes during the Time Span 13,000–10,000 B.P. — a Case Study from SW Ses 13,000–12,500 followed by a gradual deterioration until 11,000 when a sudden drop of temperature leads to a minimum between 11,000 and 10,500. A distinct rise of summer temperature around 10,500 is confirmed although the time lag in the vegetation response is ab. 300 years.
