Focal Necrosis: Primary Event in the Pathogenesis of Chronic Pancreatitis? and chronic pancreatitis differ in etiology and pathogenesis [18]. Here we will briefly review the pathology of focal necrosis and pseudocysts in chronic pancreatitis and discuss their possible role in the pathogenesis of the disease.
