Examples include, for instance, weakened spindle checkpoint signaling, supernumerary centrosomes, defects in chromatid cohesion, abnormal kinetochore-microtubule attachments and increased spindle microtubule dynamics. Here, the mechanisms leading to CIN in human cancer cells are summarized.
