Is It Possible to Detect Less Than One Bacterial Cell?amples from single molecules to living cells. An artificial nose is unique system for non-contact method for microbial detection. Using this approach, it is possible to detect bacterial “footstep,” even after removing bacteria from the assay medium. These two approaches can be used for detection of less than one bacterial cell.
