Chimera Patterns in Complex Networks,e network topologies for which chimera patterns have been reported. Then, the types of chimera states are considered and the existing methods of controlling chimeras are described. Finally, we give examples of experiments on chimera states and discuss their main applications.

Specifically, we focus on the role of noise and time delay for the chimera states occurring in ring networks of FitzHugh-Nagumo neurons in the excitable regime.

Radiation Physics for Medical Physicists. Finally, we discuss the formation of chimera patterns in two types of networks with fractal connectivities: ring networks with fractal connectivities and networks with 2D modular fractal connections. We use FitzHugh-Nagumo model?and Van der Pol oscillator?to describe the individual node dynamics.
