Problems Concerning the H2 Inhalation Technique to Determine the Cerebral Blood Flow by Means of Paln concentration in the end expiratory air. In order to investigate in which way the inhalation of hydrogen influences the clearance curves we have monitored simultaneously the pH. of the arterial blood and the tissue (or venous) pH. clearance curves of animal brain (cat, rat, guinea pig).

Comment on the Paper by , et al.cattered radiation from .Xe in the nasopharynx, which is usually negligible, is considerably accentuated. This contribution can be measured quite simply by inhaling 50 to 100 ml of .Xe at the end of a normal inspiration so that only the respiratory dead space is filled with the tracer.

Application: Nonlinear Response, clearance of .Xenon from the hemisphere was monitored by 16 regional detectors situated on the lateral aspect of the head. Each detector was made as regional as possible by collimation and lower limit discrimination at 77 KeV.
