Craniofacial and Maxillofacial Implants,n or alloys containing silicon. Micro-silica was first tested in concrete in Norway in the early 1950s. Higher strength was obtained for concretes containing silica fume. Performance of silica fume concretes in sulfate environment was also better than normal Portland cement concretes.
