Hydrocarbon production from the Hunton in these fields is from skeletal-buildup, oolite-shoal, and sub-unconformity reservoirs. Ultimate recoveries per well from these three Hunton reservoirs are roughly 42,500, 7000, and 7000 barrels of oil, respectively.

Introduction.. (1970) cite 116 fields, or 44 percent, that produce substantially or entirely from carbonate reservoirs. A review of the statistics suggests that these carbonate reservoirs contain about 61 percent of the recoverable oil in giant fields.
