Clinical Presentation and DiagnosisCorresponding with the great variety of malignant tumours in childhood their clinical symptoms are manifold. Malignant LymphomasThe malignant lymphomas may be divided into two distinct groups: Hodgkin’s disease and the non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. The latter group includes malignant lymphomas of lymphocytic, histiocytic or stem cell types; a small proportion of mixed or unclassifiable types and Burkitt’s lymphoma.

Burkitt’s SarcomaThe eponym “Burkitt’s Tumour” or “African Lymphoma” has been adopted to distinguish a poorly differentiated lymphocytic lymphoma with a particular clinical presentation, initially described by Burkitt [4] occurring in African children in Uganda.
