Design Assessment ToolThis paper describes the implementation and use of a design assessment tool in the DICE (DARPA’s Initiative in Concurrent Engineering) architecture. The internal structure of the tool and the user interface are described in detail along with a brief discussion of work planned for the future.

Artificial Intelligence in Concurrent Engineeringhave been developed. In this paper, features of various design methodologies are discussed. The impact of a concurrent engineering environment on the design methodology is presented. Concurrent engineering should benefit from artificial intelligence tools. Application of these tools at various stages of design is discussed.
