Myoepithelial and Endocrine Differentiation in Breast Carcinomaical and functional studies. Most human breast carcinomas express glycoproteins such as the Epithelial Membrane Antigen and related antigenic fragments (1), cytoskeletal components (signatedly the cytokeratins 18 and 19) (2, 3) and hormonal receptors (4), also expressed by the normal luminal cells of breast ducts and ductules.

Mesenchymal-Epithelial Interactions in Normal and Malignant Mammary Cellsal mesenchymal-epithelial relationships have been associated with abnormal development and carcinogenesis (3). In addition, evidence is accumulating to support the concept that the mesenchyme of individuals at high risk for cancer have unique properties (4–8). A large literature provides a foundation that supports these conclusions.
