Neocortical Delta Waves, with Implications for Generalized Epilepsies as Well as Decision-Making, to normal function. It is likely that the underlying cellular mechanisms are not identical, yet still having overlaps. Delta oscillations in the EEG were recognized in the 1930s and 1940s (Cobb, J Neurol Neurosurg Psychiatry 8:65–78, 1945), with other forms of delta observed later.

RL for Placement and Partitioningong and speech, there must be selective structure imposed on the underlying rhythm. How that structure comes to have its own special properties raises problems that are independent of how the rhythm is generated.
