The Role of Bisphosphonates in Bone Metastasis,igure 1). These compounds were first synthesized in Germany in 1865. Their initial use was industrial (textile, fertilizer and oil industries) and for prevention of mineral scaling (due to their ability to inhibit calcium carbonate precipitation).
