Mineral Bioleaching in Brackish and Saline Environments, not, as yet, used on an industrial scale. The use of chloride-tolerant strains of mineral-oxidising acidophiles together with measures to control chloride concentrations to below inhibitory levels could facilitate the development of industrial-scale biomining with brackish or saline waters.
