Analytical Characterization of Vacuolar Membranes from Higher Plantses in osmotic regulation, space filling, deposition of metabolic products, and compartmentation of hydrolytic enzymes. Many of these properties depend on the vacuole membrane which, therefore, deserves comprehensive study. The aims of this chapter, which reports on our initial studies, are :
