Properties,ata on earlier products (prior to 1970) are often obsolete. Block formerly showed about 1% elongation; it is now 3.0% minimum, usually about 4%. Sheet averages 15–20% elongation with a guaranteed 10% (formerly 5%). The strain-hardening coefficient has been improved significantly.

Casting,thus concerned with techniques for casting beryllium and a review of current knowledge about the solidification behavior of the metal. Many factors such as mold design, heat transfer during solidification, and impurity control have a direct bearing on both the soundness and structuce of the ingot and subsequent quality of the ingot-source product.
