Agricultural practices and yield,of roots and stubble are imprecise a more usual meaning is ‘recoverable yield’ i.e. the harvested straw and grain. Where immature plants are grazed or clipped the yield of the forage must also be taken into account. Where straw is considered valueless the ‘yield’ is the quantity of grain harvested.
