Khomeini and Prolonging and Normalising the Iran-Iraq War,ar between Iran and Iraq after the liberation of Khorramshahr. Such a labelling strategy helped Khomeini to refuse all the calls for a ceasefire. For the Ayatollah, Iran was defending itself; therefore, there was no need for a ceasefire.
