Using gait as a biometric, via phase-weighted magnitude spectra,eighbour rule. Experimental analysis shows how phase-weighted Fourier magnitude spectra afford an improved classification rate over use of just magnitude spectra. Accordingly, it appears that it is not just the frequency content which makes gait a practical biometric, but its phase as well.

Soft decisions made based on each of the projections are combined, using probabilistic or evidential approaches to multisource data analysis. For medium-sized databases of human faces, good classification accuracy is achieved using very low-dimensional feature vectors.

The Thermal History of the Universenhances a standard feature extraction technique with an analytic approach, which can be applied to the whole face without priming of estimates of eye position and size. In a database of 54 eyes this new method is shown to be less constrained, more robust and resulted in a three-fold improvement in accuracy over using the standard HT.
