Relativistic and QED Effects in Highly Ionized Systems,e, with the help of plasma sources or high energy accelerators such as the Berkeley Super-Hilac, to study krypton ions with all but one or two of the normal thirty-six electrons stripped away. Experiments with still heavier systems are being planned.

Channeling of Ions and Electrons in Crystals and Radiation from Channeled Electrons,ion of channeling was given in 1965 by Lindhard., and most of the basic phenomena had been investigated in detail by 1970.. Since then, the main emphasis in channeling studies has been on application in solid-state physics., in nuclear physics., and in high-energy physics.

As an example, fully-stripped neon ions have been produced in useable quantities with kinetic energies ranging from a few ev to more than 20
