Neutron Transport Theory and Simulationof the planetary boundary layer is a consequence of the interactions between the atmosphere and its underlying surface. The surface functions as a source or sink of energy and momentum to the atmosphere. The atmosphere provides the large scale environment which may modify the surface input over a wide range of values.
