Basic Processes in the Stratosphere and the MesosphereO, OH, N.O and HCl were discussed, as well as such interactions as ClO with NO and ClO with N.O to form ClON.O. The question of the terrestrial sources and sinks of N.O and CH. was addressed. Finally, the factors controlling the distribution of hydrogen species in the stratosphere and the mesosphere were related to the escape of hydrogen.
