Stand der Technik und Forschung, from neutrally buoyant up to 4.2 times the density of air. In Phase I of the programme, the dispersion of the gas cloud over uniform, unobstructed ground is studied, whilst Phase II studies the effect of some simple types of obstruction. This paper describes the purpose and design of the experiments and outlines the results achieved to date.

Inclusion of Particles in Second-Order Modeling of the Atmospheric Surface Mixed Layer,eral validity. The results compare favorably with Csanady’s simple model for the crossing-trajectories effect of Yudine when the particles are passive. It is suggested how the dynamical effect of the particles on the turbulence may be included.

Temperature Measurements in a Negatively Buoyant Round Vertical Jet Issued in a Horizontal Crossflot rise. Turbulent temperature quantities do not appear obeying to similarity in the ascending part of the jet. Asymmetry is observed for the various profiles. The intermittency zone was also investigated in some cases.

On a Model for the Turbulent Re-Entrainment of Small Particles,sion is derived for the rate constant for long term resuspension for which we can assume most of the particles in the well are in quasi-equilibrium at the point of minimum potential. The rate constant is seen to depend upon:

Funktionalismus und Neofunktionalismusad to an understanding of the physical processes that resulted in the above observations. One involves the use of correlation coefficients to identify active causal links among the Reynolds stresses. The other consists of determining empirical relations among the three invariants of the Reynolds stress tensor.
