Respiratory Papillomatosis,e characterized by typical finger-like projections, with a core of central axis capillaries. The number of papillomas can be detected by white-light endoscopy (WL) and narrow band imaging (NBI) using the Derkay total site score, with additional areas of disease found using NBI endoscopy [3, 4].

Narrow Band Imaging in Oral and Oropharyngeal Lesions,l capillaries loops are dense, short, and wide. The buccal mucosa capillary network is oriented parallel to the epithelial surface. The intraepithelial papillary capillary loop (IPCL) arrangement at the base of the tongue influences the thick lymphoid tissue and follicular hyperplasia and is more distorted after radiotherapy.

Narrow Band Imaging in Laryngeal and Laryngopharyngeal Malignancies, cancers. Laryngeal mucosa is more susceptible to gastric acid than is esophageal mucosa. The anterior part of the vocal cord is more prone to laryngeal cancer than is posterior part. The posterior part of the larynx is rich in carbonic anhydrase, which neutralizes the acid and thus protects this part from gastric acid.

Today, the use of high-definition chip-on-tip cameras, surgical monitors, and 4K video has greatly improved the detection of early malignancies.
