Current Work on Binary and Multiple StarsFollowing the kind invitation of Prof. Kopal, I am going to refer at this Conference on current work carried out by the IAU Commission 26, after having circulated a letter to all members to collect recent information at various places. In some declination zones these stars have been observed at a few observatories of the USSR and in Strasbourg, Santiago de Chile and Beograd. The importance of further DS observations, particularly in the southern sky, is stressed.
