The Selberg sieve,e case of non-squarefree sifting sets, as was already done in (Selberg, 1976), but our setting will also carry through to sieving sequences and not only sets. Furthermore, this setting will enable us to compare the three different approaches: via the large sieve inequality, via local models or via the Selberg sieve.
