Now at maturity, the sciencepresented in this volume reveals the polymer precursor approach tomaterials synthesis together with examples of processing ceramicshapes for a range of mechanical properties, the development ofsophisticated, noninvasive analytical techniques, and IOP designrationales relying on well-defined processing-propertyrelationships. The production of multifunctional IOPs is described,providing ion conductivity, gas sensing, bioactivity, magneticproperties, etc., combined with processability. .The existence of well-defined IOPs and the exquisite control that canbe exerted on sol-gel systems now provide access to such avariety of mixed organic-organometallic and/or inorganic hyb | | Pindex | Book 1995 |
