The importance of beads as archaeological evidence arises from their being so common and at the same time so multifarious as to make them especially useful for dating.

A New ClassificationWhile the principle of classification set out in the last chapter seems to be fairly sound, the detailed scheme given here is just a tentative proposal to show how the principal can be put into practice.
