Mitigation of Heavy Metals Utilizing Algae and Its Subsequent Utilization for Sustainable Fuels,isely reviews the severe impact of different heavy metals on microorganisms, plants and humans. Mechanisms for defence to survive under metal stress by algae are discussed. This chapter also highlights the conditions affecting the biosorption capacity of the algae and a brief insight for utilization of algae in production of biofuel.
