Ingo Runkel,Matthias R. Gaberdiel,Simon Wood then a low-dimensional model of the flow in the form of a system of ODE’s has been derived. In a region of the boundary layer just beyond the spike stages of transition this system displays deterministic chaos that has been quantified by determining its Lyapunov exponents.

Subharmonic Transition to Turbulence in Channel Flowst up to rather late stages of the breakdown process. This symmetry rapidly disappears in the final stage of transition and a developed turbulent now is attained. A pronounced difference in the development between the two channel halves is observed which is consistent with the predictions of secondary instability theory.
