影響因子rd It is a pleasure and an honour both to organize ICB 2009, the 3 IAPR/IEEE Inter- tional Conference on Biometrics. This will be held 2–5 June in Alghero, Italy, hosted by the Computer Vision Laboratory, University of Sassari. The conference series is the premier forum for presenting research in biometrics and its allied technologies: the generation of new ideas, new approaches, new techniques and new evaluations. The ICB series originated in 2006 from joining two highly reputed conferences: Audio and Video Based Personal Authentication (AVBPA) and the International Conference on Biometric Authentication (ICBA). Previous conferences were held in Hong Kong and in Korea. This is the first time the ICB conference has been held in Europe, and by Programme Committee, arrangements and by the quality of the papers, ICB 2009 will continue to maintain the high standards set by its predecessors. In total we received around 250 papers for review. Of these, 36 were selected for oral presentationand 93 for poster presentation. These papers are accompanied by the invited speakers: Heinrich H. Bülthoff (Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, Tüb- gen, Germany) on “What Can Machine Visi

Die perspektiven Zielvorstellungen by combining these multiple networks via a sum rule. The proposed method is shown to have a better accuracy(31.5% and 15.3% improvements on AR and EYALEB databases respectively) and a better efficiency than that of the widely used PCA-SVM.

Systematic comparative experiment results show that the proposed method with Gabor feature and fuzzy LDA can achieve better age classification precision in consumer images.

Das stochastische Simulationsmodell,ession robust face recognition. Experiments were performed on a large number of non-neutral scans and significant expression classification rates were achieved. Moreover, 6% increase in face recognition rate was achieved for probes with severe facial expressions.

The other one is based on the synthesized face images fused by high-frequency IMFs. The experimental results on the PIE database verify the efficiency of the proposed methods.

Zum Budgetierungsverhalten der Praxis, faces. Face recognition experiments were carried out on the pose normalized facial images with a local appearance-based approach. The experimental results showed a significant improvement in accuracy. The local appearance-based face recognition approach is found to be robust against errors introduced by face model fitting.

It is shown that the commercial systems perform better than the baseline PCA algorithm, but their performance still deteriorates on an aged data-set. It is also shown that the use of our aging model improves the rank-one accuracy in these systems.
