影響因子Considering the current interest in cellular regulation andintracellular signalling systems, it is surprising that thecontribution of ADP-ribosylation reactions to the modulation of avariety of specific cell processes, in parallel with otherpost-translational modifications such as phosphorylation, has not beengenerally recognized. While it is not feasible to cover all aspects ofADP-ribosylation, the thirty-one articles contained in this volumeprovide a valuable overview of recent progress in the field within thecontext of cell control mechanisms. For the convenience of the reader,the various topics have been grouped into several sections: (a)poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation; (b) mono-ADP-ribosylation; (c) toxinmono-ADP-ribosylation; (d) inhibitors and activators; (e) proteinmodification with ADP-ribose and its analogues; and (f)non-modification forms of ADP-ribose. The contents of the individualchapters reflect the ideas of the contributors, many of whom havespent their careers attempting to resolve the biological functions ofADP-ribosylation. We hope that this publication will serve as a usefulreference for those investigators that are new to the area as well asthose who are actively studyi

R. J. Adrian,D. F. G. Dur?o,J. Whitelaw proteins. Poly(ADP-ribose)glycohydrolase attacks ADP-ribose polymers in a specific order and thereby releases histones for reassociation with DNA. Increasing evidence from different model systems suggests that histone shuttling participates in DNA repair . as a catalyst for nucleosomal unfolding. (Mol Cell Biochem 138: 53–59, 1994)
