Turbulent Separating Flow over Humps in an Open Channelution of turbulence produced in the shear zone were key elements of the study. Parameters varied were geometry of the obstacles (vertical wall, wave shaped sills), depth of flow and discharge. For comparison measurements were carried out in a density stratified flow with some of the obstacles.
