Generalized-Ensemble Algorithms for Studying Protein Folding,e-histogram reweighting techniques. In this article, we review the generalized-ensemble algorithms. Two well-known methods, namely, multicanonical algorithm and replica-exchange method, are described first. Both Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics versions of the algorithms are given. We then present further extensions of the above two methods.

Time-Resolved Detection of Intermolecular Interaction of Photosensor Proteins,lecular interactions of photosensor proteins (e.g., photoactive yellow protein, phototropins, AppA) in the time domain are described. In particular, unique features of this time-dependent diffusion coefficient method are discussed.

Real-Time Observation of Amyloid Fibril Growth by Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscopy. On the basis of significant variations in amyloid morphology revealed by TIRFM, we propose that the taxonomy of amyloid supramolecular assemblies will be useful to clarify the structure–function relationship of amyloid fibrils.
