Assertion in Speech-act Theory,s to be made that having such a global surgery program opens the door to academic and program building experiences, especially for younger faculty. Funding for such initiatives remains a challenge, but clinical revenue and innovative solutions need to be continually developed and shared by academic global surgery programs.
