Applications of High Temperature Superconductors in Magnetic Bearings and Flywheels,evitate or suspend magnets in a stable manner that permits mechanical motion with nearly no loss of the kinetic energy stored in that motion. This single feature makes the superconductor and magnet system a promising starting point from which to fabricate mechanical bearings that have extremely low friction and are free from wear and tear.
