Weather Limitations to Primary Iron and Steel Plant Operations,The effects of weather extremes on operations of iron and steel plants, and the adjustments in plant operations that have been successfully used to meet extreme conditions are considered. It is found that serious limitations to iron and steel plant operation are imposed by only two conditions, low temperature and permafrost.
