Calculation of Magneto-crystalline Anisotropy in Transition Metals,rnal magnetic field. Without magnetic anisotropy this force would simply result in a change in direction of the external field, and no rotation of the coil would occur. The shape of the yoke, however, fixes the direction of the external field due to magnetic anisotropy.

Orbital Degeneracy and Magnetism of Perovskite Manganese Oxides,has been been spurred mainly by the rediscovery of the phenomenon of colossal magnetoresistance, that is a gigantic suppression (by more than 100 000%) of the resistivity of the sample by the external magnetic field near the Curie temperature, known from the early 1950s and very intensively studied in magnetic semiconductors [1].
