Lens Systems,This chapter outlines the basic concepts of the theory of electron-surface scattering insofar as they are relevant to lens design. Cylindrical deflectors focus only in the radial plane. Nonrotational symmetric lenses compensate this disadvantage. Three different lens systems are studied and their design is described in detail.
